people drive like Ding Waus here so..........
Ok, I searched (google) but didn't find anything. Care to elaborate?

BTW, rig looks great. Now go get it dirty!

Ding Wau is Vietnamese for Idiot. When I was in Vietnam back in 72, It was used by locals as well as Dinky Dau which means crazy. lol!

Looks great, Mine is a OD green rattle can job. I liked how it tuned out. And I agree they're ment to be used and I use mine. Here is a pic of mine when I finished with the paint.

Love O.D. I really thought about doing mine in O.D. But living here in the Philippine some rebel groups might mistaken me for being Government and fire a rocket up my exhaust pipe or ambush us soo... lol! Good job with the can, Looks cool!

Hello guys and guyettes, Just spent the better part of a week doing body work on Tora Tora. Stripped and sanded, welded in patches where needed, lightly bondo'd some ares of concern, primered rattle can style, resanded, cleaned THEN the amazing Rattle can paint job began! Caterpillar Yellow. It has a few bugs and I'm sure a little dirt in the paint but hey it is after all a 4x4 off road vehicle right? No more worries about scratchs and all lol! Although it is my daily driver here in Asia as it is necessary at times and people drive like Ding Waus here so..........Love this forum! Take care all!:steer: Oh, forgot...it cost me $120 U.S. for paint, materials, and 2 laborers.
Now if I can find the OEm license plate lights as well as a few other goodies!:steer:

Looks great- got me thinking of going the same route. Worry free and very maintainable.

I heard at a local shop here in Japan today that there are buys banging out panels and fenders of decent quality over there. True?

Pete

Where in PI are you? This is the same route I'm going with mine too.

Beautiful job man!
Great choice of color, too, what all have you done to your short bus there?

Thanks, It is very easy to maintain. Yes there are good shops around that will do it rergular tin smiths. My front fenders are stainless btw.

Lol I told my wife they may think it is a school bus because they are basically the same color as the U.S. here. I have not done a great deal to it. The po was the one that did the lift and power steering set up a saginaw. Most here are converted to diesel but I like the old 2F. Besides gas here for premium is a little over $2.00 a gallon Not sure if the premium is the same octain as U.S. grade though. It had a soft top on it when I bought it that did not fit so I bought a 81 hardtop and had loads of fun putting it on by myself. Then I found a rear hatch in good shape although very rare here paid about $100.00 for it and have to have hinges made at a machine shop costing about $30.00. I made a gauge panel but finding all matching gauges is a chore. All of the OEM gauges and panel was shot. Need to rebuild the transfer case now and today I found gas in the oil. Fuel pump diaphram maybe. Or hopefully I flooded the H--l out of it the other day lol. It has the factory 3 spd on the floor. Drum brakes all around which work great for me. Has a 4" lift with pro comp shocks and OEm springs and reverse shackles and extended on the rear. I do have wandering problem too in 3rd gear. I really have to pay attention because it follows every road rut and pot hole and motorcycles here will ride 2" away from my tires and if I run over one of the idiots it will be my fault of course. Sorry for rambling on, don't see much english here haa haa!:steer:

I love the 2F man, I'm glad to hear you've kept it too!
If there is any one thing I do have against them, though, it's the fuel pump; I love the simplicity, and reliability, but wen they die, they die big, and it usually comes out of nowhere. I believe that's the one big area where the fuel and oiling systems cross over, though I think one time a guy's carb flooded into the valve-cover breather. It's been a few years since reading it, but if memory serves, he had some issues with the float-bowl getting stuck, and needed a carb rebuild. The big problem was it was about 100 miles before he realized the issue, and the damage to the main bearings had already been done by the thinned oil.

Good luck man, and again, beautiful rig!
Now get that problem fixed, and get some mud on it!
