I like that idea. I need to find a set of lugs. The guys at the tire shop didn't have a problem but I don't mind refreshing them.

As per the suggestion of the all knowing and wise @Output Shaft I'm going to proactively replace the Water pump and Fan Clutch "While I'm there" with the cylinder head refresh.

Bought them for the lowest price I could find at Rockauto.

AISIN WPT028 (WPT-028@W22) Water Pump $ 73.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 73.79
AISIN FCT017 Radiator Fan Clutch $ 64.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 64.79

Nice!!! You won't regret it. Be sure to grab appropriate gasket for WP and ALL NEW HOSES for those that haven't recently been replaced. My suggestion is talk with Onur about what you are replacing and have him give you appropriate pn for hoses. That way you aren't hunting for the right ones.

Then get new belts, from Onur as well as it is worth it and do the fan shroud split mod while you're at it.

It's got all new belts as of 6 months ago, and I think most of the hoses. I'm gathering part for a tear down in two weeks.

Radiator is going to be the big issue. I've got a leak that I've not tracked yet that must be a pinhole. I've got a very slow drip and I'm inclined to get the radiator fixed. I really don't want to get an aluminum one. I've got the champion in my hotrod, but I like keeping this as original as possible. For reliabilities sake.

My transmission knocking has stopped. Sadly, it was due to a seal between the transmission and transfer case gone bad. My trans was low on fluid and my t case was so full, it poured out of the fill plug when I opened it up. I'm going to ride it out and just check it monthly until I formulate a plan for a new clutch, rear main seal, t-case rebuild and so forth.

A big thanks to @Output Shaft for taking my call on a Saturday afternoon. Really helped.

So far I've done:

3. Plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and secondary diaphragm.

5. Install new OEM space and master on clutch + clutch line.

8. Install 33x10.5-15 BFG Ko2 on stock wheels.

Not bad for a list of 10.

Next up: Head refresh/head gasket, waterpump, fan clutch, all new belts, refreshed radiator, 15w40 Mobil Delvac diesel oil/Denso Filter all at once.

Then, knuckle rebuild and tierod ends.

New purchases this morning:

Hella E-code 7" headlamps with 60/55w bulbs
Rockford Fosgate 5.25" door speakers
JVC headunit.

The stereo stuff was just cheap amazon specials. I've got worn door speakers and a missing headunit. I've been driving around since November like this. Getting old.

Also swapped dash bulbs for normal sylvania 194's and left the green condoms off.

This is better than it has been and I can now actually read the gauges at night. I may go ahead and order the green led's but this makes me happy for now.

Hey Alex, when you pull the head (or are getting ready to) let me know and I have a couple pieces I can send to you to borrow that will help immensely.

Hella E codes installed. A huge improvement even without relays. I see the ipf harness and brighter bulbs coming soon.

Caught the $15 off $75 or more eBay special. I've got the OMESD24 Steering damper on the way for $69 shipped.

Should tighten up the steering, hopefully.

Steering damper came in today along with a used set of 96 4Runner wiper arms from eBay.

More updates soon.

Also @gregnash was kind enough to lend me a tap for the head bolts and a crank socket. Should help a bunch on the head refresh.

96 4Runner wiper arms installed. Even reused the old nut! Installed 17" wiper blades with them on both sides.

The hella headlights and the 4Runner wiper arms have been the two greatest improvements I've made to this truck. Really brought it into the modern age of convienence.

I took a $9 gamble on a Hella fog light switch that happens to be an OEM part. Found it on amazon and it fits perfectly in this spot.

I didn't want fog lights without the proper switch, now to decide between Hella or KC for the front bumper.

I have Hella 500FF on my truck and they are pretty good. Only thing is they come with 50w bulbs so they aren't any brighter than standard lights. I am gonna, eventually, pick up a set of 85 or 100w bulbs for them.

And no prob on the tap and crank socket. Both were awesome when I pulled the head.
