Do you mean sleeve place through mount ears but between alt and bolt??

Wouldn't that only have the adjusting bolt holding tension on alt??

Look at my first pic, it's under the bolt head, goes thru the front tab, and bears against the front of the alt's mounting foot. It is a sliding, but tight fit in the tab. The OE's do this by using a split hollow pin made from sheet metal rolled into a cylinder. Makes for a spring-fit in the tab's hole. Pretty much all of the OE mounts do this when not a late model radial mount.

The pivot bolt can't really help in maintaining belt tension, you tighten it to keep it in place and to locate the alt.
