do any of ya'll have anything other than an ancetodal opinion on the sentricon bait systems? Orkin man tried to sell me on them the other day, seem pricey. what do ya'll have?

I use Terminix. As far as I know, they are the only ones that will guarantee you will not get termites and will repair damage should it occur. I am not positive but I think its about 300 a year.

^ yup...me too

Terminex is great... if you want to poison you children, pets, yourself, the enviroment, etc. The only thing they guarantee is that they will get a lot of your money and be back year after year without ever solving your problem.
Termites require two main things, food and more importantly moisture. Wood mulch, which many people pile deeply right up to the foundation of their home, is the perfect invitation for termites. You must create dry barrier around your home by removing all things that retain moisture. Termites will not cross a dry zone.
If you are over run by the little devils, the best treatment is Boric Acid (also great for regular ant colonies). The termites carry the boric acid back to the entire colony destroying it. The best thing is that it is harmless/non toxic to all other living things. Here's a link to a guy with just about all answers to all gardening/pest issues you will ever encounter. He into safety and is an amazing resource. He also has a weekly radio show.

good luck with your termites!

Nolan,

Before i posted, i briefly considered the fact that i might be disrupting the land cruiser related flow of your club's board. Then i thought to myself, I can't think of a place with more guys with money to blow that like to share their knowledge about almost entirely obscure facts. As such, i decided to post a title that related to my post and roll with it. Most of the other boards i look at, the guys are either well educated but not from the south (which rules out direct experience with this problem) or from here but lacking education/money/ or the general desire to dig further into problems which the majority of society would be perfectly content to not know anything about.

Thanks for the responses, i'll ask more pinterest related questions here after the weekend.

Well played, sir... :D

Rebuttal, Nolen

I thought the CLC cool cars thread was for pictures of purple candy pintos on 24"s, and talking about bed bath and beyond runs with the wife. I also considered posting in the "what are you doing this weekend" but i am saving a how do i erect chain link fence post for that one. Maybe ya'll should have a "Ask Mud?" topic near the top for any tech related but not land cruiser related questions.
