Hi,

I hope this is the place to post this question.

Our tent trailer furnace runs on gas and the deep cycle battery provides the power for the spark (I think) and the blower.

We went camping and I set the furnace to come on at approx. 62.
It heated the joint nicely (I heard it come on a few times during the night) but by the time the morning came, it was only blowing cold air and the blower was not blowing very hard.
There was still plenty of propane but the battery was low.
Question - Why would the furnace continue to blow if the battery was low? Why wouldn't it just shut off?
Does this sound normal?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
Glenn

We have a Webasto diesel heater in our Kimberley Kamper. If the voltage at the battery (actually at the glow plug ;-) drops below about 11.8V (taking this reading from the volt meter on the trailer) it too will only blow cool air. Presumably because the glow plug can't get sufficient current (requires 9A at startup...then 1A to run the fan).
