Thanks to Brexit and the weakness of the British Pound, this is looking like a pretty attractive option. But, I can't seem to find any information on the company. Product looks legit, their lack of online presence not so much. Anyone had any experience with them?

TentBox

Shipping is listed as flat rate £300 to US with an extra £100 for each tent. Might be worth doubling up if anyone in Utah is interested in purchasing. But first, want to know that these things are actually worth buying.

looking at the video, I got an impression of light-duty construction.

Guess you could get them cheaper when you buy straight from China where they are made anyway, the major thing the UK does produce is unemployds and trouble all else is imported nowadays. ;-)
To be honest.......safe some more $$ and get a Autohome, its way better in the long run and you can get spares if ever needed.

I don't know, even with the somewhat favorable exchange, that is still over $2,000 USD, shipped. Much cheaper than the bigger name hardshell tents, but still a decent chunk of change for an unknown...

Well, now I've gone down the hole of just importing a mess of em from China. Good thing I've been learning Mandarin.

Usually its a bulk if 10or20, each tent around 850 plus freight, tax, customs and a market that actually is a little overcrowded. To make a living of that could be tough because, there is better products and greedy customers.

Sorry If I sound to critical (this is what I do for a living) but that interface in between the lower shell and the ladder mount is a joke..

Just imagine a little bit of mud a banana peal, a little to wide of a butt, a little to drunk and shaky, etc. ergo The ladder feet moving away from the vehicle and the plastic, rivets failing (Even if they where made out of bolted down aluminum the forces are massive, requires a whole different axis of attachment) with if you get lucky with the latter just landing on the roof of your vehicle and if your not with your face on the mud, your chin/nose full of blood and massive tiger laws all the way on the door..

The rest looks okay (hard to tell with out seeing the inside) Good rain gap on the two shells, somehow decent latches..

Ps: Cheap "Telescopic/sliders" with out delrin, HDPE, etc bushings and dirt/mud, grime don't mix at all, not to mention they are going to bow in no time since the profile is so shallow, oh and the detentes..

I believe the concept looks good .. but you can't beat the space created from a folding RTT design ..

Not too critical at all, actually quite useful information.
