Temp sending unit conversion

My scenario is previous owner swapped a 1977 2F into a 1970 FJ40 which originally had the 1F. Gauge cluster is 1970. Temp sending unit for 1970 is the longer version and will bottom out using the shorter 1977 union. Who has found the proper union to fit a 1970 Temp sender into a 1977 2F? Attached photos are of shorter version for 1977 model. Other is longer 1970 version.

I took the adapter pipe piece and long sender (both the pieces on the left) off my old 1969 F engine and put it in place of the short adapter and sender when I swapped in my 2F. Just looks like a piece of pipe extension, you could probably put a wanted add in the for sale section and someone would hook you up?

Yep, that second piece, the longer adapter appears to be what I need. That is the factory 1F union correct? Almost looks like a piece of water pipe lol!

Its the stock piece but you are correct it's just a piece of BSP or whatever strange treaded pipe you could probably get it at a good plumbing supply place.....If I remember correctly Vintage Tech parts may have these but it might take forever to get and cost one million dollars.

Edit: I bet Marks Off Road would have it as well you would just have to get a few other items to meet his $100 minimum order requirements.

Tried the local ACE hardware, no luck. I am not familiar with Marks.
