I don't believe it is connected to anything because there is no switch or wiring to where the switch used to be that I can find. But I have it unplugged and I am connecting things at the plug end of the motor. I will try just the blu/red to hot. I may have already tried it but I will start writing down which combinations I try. I really do hate trying to track down wiring.

BTW, what other detail would you be looking for? I scanned the page from the Chilton book I have but I cropped it so that all I had was the section I wanted to post. If there is something else I should be looking for, let me know. Thanks for the help Ryan.

Brian think you will need to supply 12 volt pos to both blu/bk blu/red at the same time with wht/blk grounded

It's Mike.....but I know what you meant. ;)

Thanks Paul, I will give that a try too. I have a feeling I will be replacing the motor. :frown:

sorry bout that Mile:D

after I posted while cutting grass on the East 40 realized what I wrote:eek:
still dealin with a Brian on eBay bout the POS tailgate that was NO RUST that was NOT! & had just finished reading his :censor:BS email

I was trying to determine if the switch next to the motor was a relay that reversed polarity, I guess you know what you need to know now though.

I was able to get the motor to run by running wires directly from the motor to the battery, just in an attempt to see if it worked. I was never able to figure out the wiring harness. I think it is some sort of Frankenstein contraption.

It seems that Rube Goldberg may have been a Toyota engineer at some point.

Glad someone agrees!

Brian, that's what I was doing but I can't get it to do anything. I planned on running new wiring to a new switch but I think it's dead. Do you remember if there were specific wires you connected to the battery or was it all of them? :hmm:

Check for a short or a open it not that hard.

take it off shoot it with a high power rifel , releive stress , and then buy new one !
You been in that heat to long, its time to come home:lol:

The only way there could be a short is if it's in the motor itself. I am running wires directly from the motor to the battery and I get nothing. :bang:

Mike
might just be stuck or dirty brushes

also ground the body of the motor know the wiring diagram shows the wht/blk as ground .
if get a moment this mornin will look at Donna`s 40 to see if an tell anything

is yours a two speed?
