Hey all, I know this subject has been covered ad nauseum, however I need all your help here. The PO removed the motor and stuff prior to me buying it. The haynes manual isn't much help with the things that I have. I'm not sure if the OP bought a replacement motor and never installed it or not.

Now the round cylinder on the right is the original motor, but it looks like it's missing some parts. The gray round thing with the box on the left appears to be a different motor for the window. This thing hooks up to a spot perfectly on the window mechanism dead center. The red and yellow wires coming from it are not hooked up to anything, nor is there any other connector that matches it in the tailgate. Is that thing a replacement motor? Can I cut the wires to the original motor (right side) and hook up the red and white wires? I could really use your help in figuring out what goes where because I am stumped.
BTW I have not seen the nylon gear nor seen anything that resembles its original place in the stuff that I have. The left side motor has a metal gear on the underside that fits the teeth of the thing to the center. Sorry it's so long winded, but I would appreciate any help you can give. If you need more details then let me know.

This is what mine looks like...and what the little plastic gear looks like...

Thanks for the pic. That pretty much mirrors what I've found throught the Haynes. Here is a more close-up picture of the motor and gear being attached to each other.

Any chance that this is a later model or perhaps even aftermarket motor? I think that I might be able to get it to work, but I'd have to disconnect the original motor. If anyone has any ideas please share them.

There is only one kind of tailgate window motor that I know of. It looks like the one that "Pighead" posted up.

I can't see your pic's probably because of the firewall here. I have a motor like Pighead posted up if you need it (just the motor, no regulator or anything else. PM me if interested.
The plastic gear is out since I'm using it as a sample to make brass gears.

Thanks for the link to pics Pighead and thanks for the offer Cruiser_guy. I still have the original motor hooked up inside the truck, but my regulator is entirely different from Pighead's one. I can't get to my truck right now (damn island chains), but I think I may be able to get what I have to work. I have no idea where the PO got the setup that he had, but it may just work.
