Any of you guys know the local regs on tail lights.

I've been running all Red in the back, but then had a sealed bulb burn out. Now I've got Red brake lights, Amber / Red turn, and Amber running lights.

Should I rewire them so the running lights are Red or Amber / Red? Or are amber running lights OK with the DOT.

I know Red lights on the front or sides is a no no, and Amber is OK on the Front and sides.

I think Ive found my answer. It looks like tail lights need to be Red.

Red turn Signals OK inNorth America.
Amber turn Signal the rest of the world.

Forward facing lights must be white or amber. Indicators amber. Headlamps must be white light.

Rear facing lights must be red, and indicators can be amber or red (I think red rear indicators should be illegal - amber is better for visibility).

Side markers, amber towards the front corners, as close to the front as possible. Red for the rear corner markers, as close to the rear corners as possible.

I've been thinking amber would be better for the indicators. Which leads me to rewiring so that I don't have amber running lights.

I hadn't given it a second thought many years ago when I switched from a two light to a four light system for tail lights.
