Download the FSM and EWD from the resources section and all your questions will be answered.Hello,
Which wire is the tachometer signal wire behind the gage cluster on the dash, I have an 96 80 series.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Looked before I asked, not my first time on the internet. I cant figure it out thats why I asked. Did I mention I hate wiring.Download the FSM and EWD from the resources section and all your questions will be answered.
I included a pdf of the combination meter in my reply. The information you're looking for is there.Looked before I asked, not my first time on the internet. I cant figure it out thats why I asked. Did I mention I hate wiring.
Correct.I'm no expert, but how I read that diagram that was posted is the tachometer signal comes to the gauge via the black wire at pin 11 on the B connector. The other end of that wire comes from pin 10 at the E7 ECU.
Ground (solid brown) is shared with several other gauges and terminates at ground point ID, which is behind the left kick panel. C-14 is the signal wire for the fuel gauge.Looks like it shares power internal to the cluster with a bunch of things via a yellow wire at pin 5 on the A connector, and is grounded internally eventually coming from a yellow red wire on pin 14 in the C connector. The ground comes via the fuel pump.
Thanks. I'll edit the prior post.Correct.

Did you figure it out? I can send a link to my build. The plug and wire is behind the glove box.First I would like to thank everyone for the help. second I am trying to installing a Dakota Digital box, for the Cummins 12 valve that is currently sitting in the engine bay. tThe nuts and bolts part wasn’t all that bad but the wiring is KILLING ME. Not that there is a lot of it. With the info above and checking the wiring diagram I believe I have located the correct plug and wire, I am going to install and I will let you know how this turns out. Again thank you for the Help.
