you put in the exact same tach that I have i think it was like $25 very cheap, and not always accurate, i have to tap mine sometimes do get it to drop back down at idle, sometimes it shows over 1000 rpms when I'm at idle, but hey it kept me from getting speeding tickets when my speedo wasn't working.

Geez, doing 3000 RPM at 65 mph is all I care to do with my FJ40. And I have a 350 V-8.
I have run it up to 4000 rpm, but holy cow, talk about gear whine. I tend to treat my V-8 as simply an I-6 but with more power.

It is an Equus brand "Pro Tach" Part number 6086. I bought it at Thrifty Auto parts in Gresham Oregon. I paid $40.00 for it.
