I have a 93 T-100 and the dash lights that light up the instrument cluster, gauges, etc are very dim or burned out. I can barely see them. I'd like to replace the bulbs. What's involved? Hopefully it's a few screws. I don't have a FSM, just a Haynes manual and it's not too helpful. Can I get the replacement bulbs from a auto parts store or is this something I ned to get from a dealer?
Thanks,
Bob

two screws on the upper part of the gauge itself. the bezel that mates up with it has to be removed. most of the ends of the bezel have taco shaped clips. so you just pull it off.

on the lower corners there are phillips screws. depends on the options if there is a lower bezel. if so, it has to come off to acess the corner screws on the first
mentioned bezel.

once you get the first bezel off you can remove the remainig screws on the gauge cluster.
if you have tilt steering, you might get the column down far enuff to get the gauge cluster out. otherwise you have to separate the column in half.

depends on the speedo, if its electonic or cable driven, the cable will have to be unscrewed.

once you pull it out, the bulbs twist out. they have have plastics sockets. the bulb part number is 192.

installation reverse of removal.

and it seems like alot work, but its easy. and for the first time shouldnt take more than hour.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the help. With your help I opened it up and found that all of the bulbs were working but a few turned very dark on the inside. I replaced all of the bulbs that stay on when the headlights go on but left the idiot lights alone (but checked them) I'll have to wait till tonight to see if it's any brighter.
Thanks again!

Did you try adjusting the brightness knob?

First thing I checked, lol
Well I checked the dash last night and it was much better. I think those blackened bulbs could have been the problem. Also, the truck sits outside 24-7 and the inst. panel is pretty faded from the sun. Maybe that's why it looks dim and washed out.
