Switches to control 8274 for rebuild

What gauge wire should you run for an in-cab winch switch to an 8274?

I'd use whatever I had around, 18 is all you need.

I confess ......its in a LR 110.

The original LR switches have three stages:
1.Doesnt work
2.Gets hot
3.Its gone

Anyway.....the in-out switch i used came from a FJ55 Land Cruiser rear power window.
