With drawers on the way, it's time to start thinking about electrical layout. Has anyone added a switch-pro to the LX console? Almost looks like this was made for it. :)

A couple questions to those who have had the center console apart.

- Will I have enough room for mounting studs and harness under the console?
- How involved is it to remove the center console top cap?

I haven't bit the bullet on buying the Switch Pro's yet, but my intent is to design a 3D Printed mount that will fill this space. I need to see if there is space below that rubber pad. My thought is to cut this area out so I can have either a flush mount for the Switch Pros or have one that is flush at the front and sits higher in the rear so it is angled toward the driver/passenger.

I thought about you when I was sizing it up. Glad to know you are thinking along the same lines. Removing the console looks pretty involved. If you follow the FSM they want you to unhook fridge lines etc. I'm hoping we can just remove the side panels and access it all that way.

Thanks Ryan!

If you are looking to mount it where you've indicated, no need to pull the fridge lines. Pull leather on each side of center stack, including hand brake, remove ash-tray (pull hard), pull cup holder, then with arm-rest up, start popping it out. Some cables to disconnect. It's a pain, because there's like 50 clips that you'll be worried will break, but then you're good.

Looks like a good option, but is where I put my phone... I like the ones like that use wasted space like the ashtray, since who uses an ashtray anymore?

I actually like this ash tray. At least after you remove the ash tray/cig lighter and add a low profile USB port in the cig lighter. I keep all my charging cables in the spot where the ash tray was and it all closes up nice and tidy. I can't stand cables draped all over the center console (i.e. my wife's car).
