First off I'd like to thank everybody for their well wishes, for keeping us in your thought and prayers. Means a lot to me.

As most of you guys know, my little man has been sick for a couple of weeks. Up until today we only knew that there was some sort of problem with his left kidney. I finally got to see a pediatric kidney surgeon today ( after another ultrasound on Friday afternoon ) and he was very helpful and knew exactly what was happening and why. Turns out Garrett has a stage 4 ( worst kind ) obstruction in his left kidney. He was born with it and although it should have shown up on either of the two later prenatal ultrasounds, the condition went undetected.
Either way, he's scheduled to have surgery on may 7th and the chances of the kidney being repairable are pretty good.

Thank you so much for the pms, phone calls, texts and emails as well as personal well-wishes. They all help.

You guys are my peeps.

Georg

This pic was taken while I was at the roundup. When I left for the event he was perfectly fine. By Wednesday evening he was in the ER and stayed at the hospital Saturday night. Yes, I got really close to flying home.

I had him all of last week and until today. He's gradually gotten better and is almost back to his old self. Hopefully we won't have any more flare-ups till the surgery. This pic is from Sunday.

Georg glad ya'll have a proper diagnosis. Gosh I HATE seeing pics like that with him on the bed....I guess all us Dad's think the same thing.....if I could only suffer through it for them.

Yall are getting many prayers from Mississippi as are the Drs for surgery

Good to hear that George. We will be praying for you!

Georg, so glad that they have found the problem. Will continue to keep y'all in our prayer. Kids are way tougher than their parents.
Love and hugs your way.

Thanks so much. Y'all manage to put a smile on my face. And so does my little man.

Need proof that he's actually mine?! Last week when he was admitted to the hospital after spending the night in the ER, a nurse comes in and hands him a little gown and some socks. He strips down, puts on the socks first and then picks up the gown. Looks at it, hands it back to the nurse and says "I don't wear a dress". And went commando the rest of the day! Socks on.

Yup, just as stubborn as his old man.

Last night we had a talk about his upcoming surgery. He wanted to know what was going to happen. So his mom told him, no sugar coating it. He asked a couple of questions and he's ok with it. He insisted that daddy had to be there and mommy. I already know who's gonna be running the show while he's at the hospital......

Thanks again, I'll post updates. Right now he's doing really good. :)
