One thing I was going to do IF I GOT ome, was ask them to paint the shocks black and the springs red. I'm very curious as to how good the Toytec coil overs are though...for 750$, that ain't half bad.

$750 is just for the front, The OME you can do the whole tamale for around that.. Unless you are a off road racer or hard core wheeler, which most are NOT ... the High dollar kits are over-kill..;)

Save yourself some hard earned coin and get the OME. you won't be disappointed.

I disagree. You don't need to be a hard core wheeler to appreciate or notice the performance from a high end suspension.

I do agree that you will be happy with the OME lift and that it is a good product. But after switching form OME to Icon, I'm extremely pleased with my setup.

As far as the Toytec being the same as OME, I was referring to the non-adjustable coilovers. OME makes the coil for them... at least that is what they told me. not sure what you mean when you say they are COIL OVERS. All the lift kits for the FJ i've seen are coil overs.

When lifting, especially if adding spacers to the spring lifts, consider the cv wear caused by the increased shaft angle - more lift = steeper angle = greater wear and failure rate.

As for the rear rubbing - I'm running 35's and a buddy helped me fab some 1-inch drop spacers for the bump stops. These reduced almost all rubbing. What cannot be mitigated is body flex in real twisty situations. If your not doing anything hardcore, you won't see any rub with the bump stop drop.

my $.02 and personal experience with my FJC.

750$ for the front then rear shocks maybe...200-250$? A coil-over I don't have to nit-pick at a dampness rate (med, heavy, light) as I can adjust them to my personal preference. On top of that, they are rebuildable.
