Surface Pro 3

I have had a Surface Pro 3 for a while for work. I am wanting to expand its use (personal). I got the updated Backroad Maps microSD. Anyone know how I can get this on the Surface? it doesn't seem to be able to read the file types. Years ago I got the original Backroad maps microSD onto my old netbook but I don't remember how. My computer literacy is not the best. Wondering if there is a way to run the Garmin Oregon to connect to the Surface so I can view on a larger screen as well.

Go to Garmin website, and see if you can download Basecamp. I think you'll need that to read the Garmin cards

We have a Surface Rt, and after looking at @asutherland 's nifty touchpad setup I'd like to try and emulate that using the Surface. I have a hand held Garmin unit, but it's just too small to view and use while driving.
I have the backroad mapbooks loaded on the Garmin as well and would like to transfer that over too.

So you figure you can read the garmin maps on the SurfacePro screen just as easily as on the Garmin GPS?
