Back in Colorado. Thanks again Jim and Katherine for the hospitality and sharing your piece of the beach with us. Great event, great food from the wood box & the Yopo crowd. Awsome time and we are really glad we took the Sleeeemo out there.

And to the doubters, yes it can wheel. Only got stuck once. Didn't even need a winch to get it off the crest of the dune. As for the those that spent Sat evening digging it in, the Matrax made short work of that. Drove straight out.

Team Yopo Recipes:

Lamb rack with wine and coffee reduction sauce:

instead of pork, we used the rack of lamb and we added a little bit of whipped cream..

Vanilla Cured Pork with Coffee Sauce | Entrees

We used the coffee sauce part of it.
We removed extra fat from lamb rack, cut rib by rib and grill, added some salt.

Coffee Mousse:

Iced Coffee Mousse Recipe at Epicurious.com

the sprinkle was done by hand, no electric tool at the beach and we added some Brandy as well...

the bowl was cooling over a bunch of ice until someone else presented the first dish, so we have the dessert right away...

Lobster Ravioli with Coffee Sauce

well, that was the simple one.

A lobster ravioli box from Trader Joe's, that cook in 4 minutes, if you have propane in your damn kitchen set-up...if not, takes forever :(
we forgot to add the chicken stock, it was not as tasty as expected due to that...

to use it, we need to add the coffee sauce, there you go...

Closet Cooking: Roasted Lamb in Coffee Sauce

we added some pecorino cheese to the pasta...

The Slee limo turned out great. Hope to see it at CM 12!

The run over High Mountain Rd drops you into the Pozo Saloon, built in 1858.

Thanks Jim!!

You know I've been to SnT several times, and have yet to make it to the Pozo Saloon.

How long does it take to get there from the beach?

Awesome times

Jim, you pulled it off with a bang.
To me this was the best S&T ever. Great friends, great food, plenty to drink. I can't complain.
I want to thank everyone who took part in the Sand Chef competition, specially the teams, who relentlessly prove themselves every year to be masters at cooking at the beach.
Like I said, I'm willing to keep Sand Chef alive for those who want to back to Pismo.

Regards

Alvaro

:bang:man i missed the sand chef competition!!!
maybe next year well have to take the challenge and give the other vets a run for there money.

The Sand Chef Contest

Congratulations to all the Sand Chefs. A great job by was done by all the teams under very tough, cold, windy conditions. The food was outstanding as was the very large crowd cheering on the contestants.

I did not get the names of all the judges, but we did have a few celebrities at the table. Woody our benevolent IH8MUD dictator took the judging very seriously while posting to MUD at the same time, good multi tasking!! PismoJim of course whose presence alone makes SnT possible. Cristo Slee with his amazing Slee Limo rounded out the celebs.

.First place was won by Pablo and his wife a two person team. Not only did they win the cash pool, they won a TemboTusk Extreme Duty flat slide, Buffalo Straps and a box full of bottles of wine or alcohol from Slee Off-Road.

.Second place by just one point was Ross Woody and his team the Effing Betty Crockers.

.Third place in the Sand Chef rankings was Roberto and his team the Yopos. Good job Roberto, the food was amazing. He spent the next hour or so after the end of the contest, feeding the masses that were hanging out near his cook station!

Chef Alvaro out did himself this year with an outstanding Sand Chef Contest.
