Not True, I lock up the rear the whole time I"M in pismo and if you ever get stuck you can lock up the front and rear. it help, but the rear....got to lock it up in the dunes. get that in before the trip for sure.... also let's you get a little squirly

Read the fine print VERY carefully ... most rental companies say insurance not valid for off-roading.

Unfortunately ... I know this for a fact.

nobody told us 'course.......we did return it with grass still on the dash

I'm thinking about buying a few beater Ford Fiestas, sticking some cardboard bezels on the grill, and rent them out myself. If they don't rent, at least we can race and jump them.

By jump them, I mean jump over them!

Drive them in and tow them out...

Holiday Inn Express in Arroyo Grande is really nice and reasonable. We have clients in town all the time, and they have tried everything in the area. That takes the cake by far, in their opinion. It's maybe 2 miles from the north entrance, and 3.5 or so from the south entrance....and across the parking lot from AJ Spurs Steakhouse.

It's kinda hidden back in the parking lot too, so unless your looking, you miss it. All you see is Great Gatsby (because of their big fawking neon sign) and AJ Spurs.

But, apparently it's nice.

First year at pismo I made it ok, with no lockers, and a rod knock. Drove up and back with that knock, and made the poker run.

Last year I had a no slip locker in with a freashish V8, much more fun.

This year, will be both air lockers, expecting much much more fun.


But don't scare the kids, you can do pismo with out lockers no problem, just air down. I do agree that having lockers is much more fun.

I run the the dunes in high range and with the center diff locked. I do not like to use low range on the dunes, I find that it's too harsh on the drive train. Specially on landings. (Ask Drexx about this).

quick question - is the north or south entrance a better place to come in to get to the camp? will probably be landing late evening on friday and curious for direct route.

I consistently air down to 12-15 psi, and have never, ever been suck.

I go all the time, and I'm stock.

I also run the dunes in nothing but low gear, but that is just me.

loeky, south entrance is more direct. It saves you about 1.5 miles of driving on the beach. Just head south on highway one from the north gate on Grand Ave., and turn right at the next signal. If you hit the rock and roll diner (the big white and red railcar) you've gone too far.

We'll all be by pole #6. When you enter the beach, just drive south.
You can't miss it.

Allow me to clarify by saying that NO you do NOT need lockers in anyway shape or form, it's just better fun having them...I did pismo stock unlocked street tires and all with NO problem.

I just got all of my confirmations on coming to Pismo. Looks like my truck will be there Thursday with Butch and Kowboy, and I will be there on Friday. Man am I looking forward to this. I have been trying to figure out a way to come out there for a few years now and without Kowboys help I would probably miss this one too.

Would any one be interested in a raffel for any body panels? I was thinking something like running boards. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone. I am the guy who brought the Heritage Sheetmetal products to market. The Heritage Premium line is made by my friend Paul in Panama, and the Heritage Economy line comes from other vendors in Costa Rica, Columbia and Nicaragua. All BS aside, this is by far, not a high-profit capitalist venture. This is not a case of me simply moving product from my left hand to my right hand and making big money.... I probably should be focusing on other business efforts that require less time, inventory demands, customs, shipping hassles, less square footage and quicker fill & turn rates, but I have tried product from every established vendor, and none of it was worth messing with. As our beloved cruisers age, and the body conditions give us less and less to work with (soon to be rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic...), WE NEED THESE PARTS! So I bit the bullet and worked with the vendors to co-develop the stamping and get it all right. So after a year of planning and investing, we are now selling the products. Personally, we are thrilled to have access to the panels for our restoration efforts at TLC. I agree they are expensive, but we have nothing to compare them too, and the effort required is huge. The mark up is minimal. Any classic or collected vehicle always experiences shifts in the market as they age, become rarer, and then soon parts start to dissapper for them. I feel that is where we are now, kind of like the 1990's when 55-57 Checy's were crazy hot. Every 57 Chevy convertible that had been in a junkyard rotting away suddenly was deemed restorable due to high market values. So there was a jump in the market, then it slumped as the peak passed and there were many pigs with lipstick on the market. Then that market softened, but in recent years due to the availability of quality new body panels, the market has started to shift up again as the quality of the vehicles is improving. We are at the "trimming of the herd" stage in the vintage Cruiser market, and I wanted to ensure that we would all have options that allow us to continue to enjoy our Cruisers.
