I think the coolest spot for pumpjacks in the west is around turner valley AB, the rolling foothills. There's a "hell's half acre" story or two about that area. Interesting oil & farming culture if you find any old old timers out there. If you have a chance the backroads south of turner valley and Longview are worth exploring, also the road into the rockys and backroads down to coleman.
