Supercharger belt for those running smaller pulleys

All,
I ordered and installed a Gates K060696 belt on my supercharged Land Cruiser with a 2.8" pulley. This puts the tensioner pulley at ~50% and allows for the installation of a yet smaller pulley...

did your original belt ever come off with the 2.8? I'm thinking about trying the 2.8 pulley but couldn't find a clear answer whether a shorter belt is required.

Same belt. Tensioner picks up the difference.

Ditto - OEM belt works fine with the 2.8" pulley.

Roger that, thanks! Pulley is ordered! $15 bucks for shipping, hope it's wrapped in gold Should be fun for the winter months. I'm sure it's gonna be hard to take off when summer comes around.

I'm assuming you have the SC belt tool to make your life infinitely easier?

yeah I have a craftsman serpentine belt tool from when I installed the charger, and yes it makes belt installation a breeze. Is there a torque spec for the pulley nut?

WTF, pulley came in yesterday. I got the nut off but I couldn't get the pulley off. My puller wouldn't fit because the radiator is in the way and I didn't want to bang and pry to get it off. I may need to find a puller with a shorter bolt.

Those who have removed it, did it slide right off after removing the nut or did it require some persuasion?
