Anyone up for a trip this weekend. I am here, guaranteed, cause I'm not sitting at the border with those poor bastards! :D I like to get going early myself, with a thermos of coffee. For where to go, I have no idea in particular.
Idea 1: Port Alberni at 10 am, Boomerang Café, then up past Great Central Lake, past Elsie Lake to Oshinow Lake, have a fire at the end Elsie Lake on the North side.
Idea 2: Meet in Sooke, do what people in Sooke do, cause I don't know anything down there. I'd enjoy that, it is new to me.
Sat would be okay, probably prefer Sunday. I might be able to have Rob as guide/navigator if we go Sunday. :steer:  J

I'd love nothing more than to go on the 'Idea 1' trip if we could pull that together. That is new country to me up there, and would be nice to see. That said, I'm not sure I'll be able to make it fly on the 'family day' long weekend with the :princess:; I'll run it by her and see.

Also, I'm running snowflake rated 32"x9.5" skinnies. They're incredible in the snow to a point. Problem is they like to dig. I was working hard keeping up with the guys with 35"x12.5" in deep grainy old snow, as they were able to float on top (on the last snow run). Fresh or powdery snow would probably have been fine.

I don't know the specs of your rig, but I wouldn't want to hold anyone back in deep snow. My 70 LWB is fairly mild with a 2" lift, rear e-locker, and aggressive 32" skinnies.

Do not worry about snow. No need to push it, we'll just see how it works out. I just brought home my new old FF rear so tomorrow I'll unload that, and keep Sunday open. I'm stock drivetrain, open diff.

Sorry guys, turns out my wife is working tomorrow, so I'll be home taking care of the kids. Wish more than anything I could get out, but it just ain't gonna happen. :frown:

Unfortunately i wont be able to make it either. Hopefully next time
