Surprised you wouldn't get some significant vibrational chatter from the plastic rear body panel.

Thanks for the compliments on the BMW, it's my 95 325i/beater...lol I have a S50 (M3 motor) to go in it, but it's an automatic (right now)and I'm waiting for the transmission to die before doing the full drivetrain swap. The 325 was basically built to sit on the showroom floor and showcase JL Audio. We took it to the recent show and it took 2nd in Modified Plus in SQL (Sound Quality). We got beat by a manufactures vehicle....stupid Sony rep, shoudl have stayed at home....lol

The car doesnt produce enough volume of music to make the plastic rattle, she is pretty quiet but extremely crisp. We are running a pair of JL Audio 12w3's on a JL Audio 500/1 with a 300/4 powering the JL Audio XR 6.5" components in fiberglass kick panels and the rears...all running off a Nakamichi CD-400 head unit.

I have a 95 M3 coupe that is basically a track only car that rarely have time to play with, but as soon I sell it I'd have all the time in the world to drive it kind of thing...

nice

Bet the track car is fun at Barber Motorsports Park. I'm pretty spoiled by being reasonably close to VIR, but I'd love to lap BMP sometime. Ok,that was my last off-topic post in this thread--I promise. Back to you selling some of these incredibly priced subs.

Adam,

I apologize for not getting back to you, I dont recall seeing an email from you can you please resend? I pretty prompt about returning emails....I apologize that I may have missed your email.

Thanks,
Steve

I e-mailed Steve and received a response in about 4 hours so at least in my case he was prompt. I just haven't called him back yet.

Same here, he got right back to me. He's a good guy!

Steve,
What would your price be on just the enclosure (no subwoofer)?

Anyone get one of these and get it intalled? Feedback?

Ill let you know how it works when it arrives (waiting oh so patiently) and once its installed (probably after Surf-N-Turf unless I pull an all nighter. I have a good feeling too though and for the price that is extremely kickass.

Sorry Guys,

I have been really busy working on a truck for the SEMA show.....All the current orders have been shipped out.....We still have enclosures left for those of you interested in purchasing them.

Exile had a container held at customs for inspection and we now have more XT10's in stock......

Cant wait to hear the feedback from you all.....

Thanks for your patience, Steve

Hey Steve, do you or anyone else have pictures of running the power to the back. Im hoping to do that asap so when the stuff gets in I can make Pismo with the sub installed.
Thanks,
Adam

Adam,

Call me at the shop when you get a chance....running the power in the rig is EXTREMELY Easy.....the wire almost jumps in the truck....

Anyone, anyone......?

Just curious as I'm contemplating whether I should take the plunge before Steve parts with his LX.

I ordered and received the subwoofer package and everything else to do a complete stereo upgrade, but I have not been able to install it yet. I am waiting for my cargo drawer system because I am going to try to mount the sub amplifier to it.

I have some time off this holiday season and I am likely to install the head unit and front door speakers at that time.

I'm interested in hearing about how the upgrade sounds in other people's trucks also.

PO had installed:
Alpine Head
Alpine Sound Processor
Alpine 4/3/2 Ch Amp
Running front and rear door stock speakers (4 Ch Amp set up)

I installed the Long Dong enclosure with the Exile 10" sub. Fitment was excellant. The box fit like a glove. I didn't have any Dynamat, so I did attach some 3/8" closed cell foam to the back of the box to limit rattles against the body.

Install was very easy, and as Steve/LD said on a previous post, the wires almost jump into the rig. No detailed instructions are required, just reference the picture of the fitted assembly at the start of this post.

MyAlpine components are old - probably installed by the owner pervious to my PO, circa '98. The amp is now running in a 3 Ch setup, putting about 80 watts to the sub, and ~35 w/ch to the stock front door speakers. The PS speaker is just about shot.

(X over @ 90hz, no sub sonic filter on my amp. Steve/LD recommends 80-100hz X over and 50 hz sub sonic filter)

The sound is incredible (I'm an average joe type of car audio person) - this is easily the best mobile audio I've ever had. The ideal set up calls for more power to the sub than I have, but I am satisfied with the sound available from the current amp.

I will be swapping the front stock speaks for eclipse units shortly - this and a new head unit will cap off the project.

The rear door speakers are disconnected - I don't see any value in going the upgrade route on these, based on the sound (good) I've got now with the *****y front speakers. With the eclipses in front, I'll be good to go.

Ported enclosure done 13 years ago with a 10" JBL subwoofer. All 4 stock door speakers were replaced by Infinity 62f uniplanar 6" coaxial (They were the first 1 1/4" mounting depth available speakers but discontinued long ago :crybaby:). This is not a sound competition setup but is 1000 times better than the OEM.

Head unit is my trusty Sony XAV-7W 7" receiver/display 1 DIN and a 1 DIN Sony DVX-11A DVD player. Subwoofer is drived by a 120 watt RMS mono amp and the doors speakers by the head unit.

In the roof I have a drop down Audiovox VOH702 TV/Video monitor for my kids when they were young and used the third row.

This old setup has provided many hours of happy entertainment on our loooong trips.

A couple of years ago I removed my headrest monitors since my older son doesn´t want to hang with us any more, and the drop down was reinstalled more to the upfront to cover the second row were my two youngers sit now.

Steve,

I tried PMing you a few days ago because I'm interested in buying an enclosure with no speaker. I've got a brand new P.G. R10 that I was going to build a box for in my old extra cab truck but now I've got an HDJ81 and I don't want to lose any cargo room. You've already done the work on something that I was thinking about so I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Will you sell just an empty enclosure? $?

Thanks

Adam

I'd just call the shop. Steve doesn't check in with the board much anymore, so you might be waiting a while for a reply.
