The diesel and gas tanks are the same. Diesel uses two tubes, one for fuel pickup and one for fuel return. Gas only uses one tube for pickup. If you are using the tank for gas, you can cap the return tube since it should be vented to the filler tube. I can't remember which is pickup and which is return but you could pull the screws and find out.

Thanks a bunch. The tank is already on the truck and it’s a bitch to take down. Hahaha. But I’m glad I can just cap one. One is thicker than the other so I would imagine the thinker one is the Pickup

They pop up from time to time on ebay Australia. If you have an ebay account change the setting to Australia and search. However be advised that finding the tank is only half the battle. Getting a seller to agree to ship is another. I got stiffed on the first tank I purchased but found another once I had some more money saved up.

I'm pretty sure most shipping companies would not ship these overseas from Aus if something red flagged it.

You're taking a chance that it flies under the radar.

Personally, I'd search for a local generic shaped tank. And don't get hung up the OEM original aspect.

I swapped out the 50 litre tank in my 105series, and installed a 90 litre prado tank.

There's loads of room for more than 50litres of you don't need the spare tire to be under the floor

The gas sub tanks have a transfer pump on them. The oem set up pumps fuel from sub to main tank.

Diesels don't have a pump in the tank

I had to modify straps, and bolt holes, and massage one corner of the tank to clear my non standard exhaust system. I think I had it in and changed over in a day

Hey,
Did someone succeed mounting 100/105 sub tank on 80 series ?
I know about the filler tube diameter of 100/105 is smaller than filler tube of 80 sub tank, but this is not a big issue as well.
The post is for the straps, but that's not a big issue if you make them, so is 100/105 same size and can fit in 80 series ?
