ive been running soa for 35 years ,i no longer remember why.!!!!!!!!

i got a 65' land cruiser i am building up. going with a chev power train and dana 60s. how do i figure out spring weights and shocks with out buying a bunch and just swapping out till im happy?

I have '75 40 that I have done the SBC ('81 350) conversion, power steering conversion & disc brake conversion, teraflex shackles, full roll cage, custom front rear bumpers, 2-1/2" SUA lift, running 35" tires on 8" rims, lockers frt & rear with 4:88 gears. I'm ordering longfields next week. So I think next I will do a SOA with stock springs. Wanting to extended the wheelbase. Have searched for links a little bit.

Does anyone have a link to a good SOA with extended wheelbase build. This Fj40 is strictly used off-road, I trailer it to the trails, but do drive it on the pavement on short trips. I will definitely do a anti-warp bar. Have two brothers that did the SOA on Jeeps & one had no anti-warp bar & the other had a poor weld job on the bar & both on first trip off road did lot's of damage. Also I want new drive shafts with CV joints.

Thanks,

Mark B

"Chicago Builds a 40" in the hardcore section. Tons and tons of great info. Grab a beer or twelve and read away.
