SUA + SR + OME = 35s and a smooth ride?

I did a shackle reversal on mine with 4 in Alcan springs on my 60, and at first i liked it, but now i would rather not have it on there. If i had to do it all over again i would leave the front alone with the way it was.

I am running the 35 BFG AT's by the way and have no problems at all with articulation . Did not have to change my driveshafts either. I have maxed out the suspension just to make sure but all is well.

Why would you have left it? The $$$ to do it vs the unnoticed gain? please explain.... thanks!

I doubt that a shacle reversal will have any measureable positive effect on raod manners.

The suspension (shocks and springs) can be tuned a bit my softening the spring rate and finding compatible shocks.

The BIGGEST variable is tires. Hard, worn, out of round, cupped, unbalanced tires are bad news for your ride. If you want the great ride on the road, get a premium truck/SUV tire. A good one is the Michelin Cross Terrain. I run these on my Expedition, and they far outperform the Goodyears they replaced.

The cruiser wears OME medium, Nitrochargers, and GY MTRs. These are just OK when running on the road, and have adequate stopping and handling performance. Balanced, rotated, and properly inflated they are acceptable for me, and better than teh stock suspension I replaced. A less agressive tire, like the BFG AT would probably be better.

I would also have your mechanic check alignment, do a computer dynamic balance job on the wheels and tires, and check the TREs and general condition of the front end suspension. An anti-sway bar in the rear will also make a difference.
