As I look through many old publications and articles....Some had them, and some did not.

What I am finding is that most SWB FJ45's had them, but LWB's did not. However, I don't have enough to back that claim up.

My reasoning is this.

Being the second owner of my rig (given the P.O. doesn't remember last week) I would wager to say my front end has never been touched.

Given that the stamped bezel cruisers did not have "TOYOTA" in the mesh radiator grille, mine does. And as I inspect it, unless he changed it out in the 60's or 70's, this was on there from the factory.

So in short, I guess I am asking if by not having a stamped bezel, was it replaced or like that from Japan?

LWB w/o stamped bezel, 40 series with one, and another with the 45 swb with one. (my same year 63')

Just curious as I start tinkering on the little things. It may not matter to most.....

From what I heard over the years not all 63 had them. I do know if there was a place in the screen on the bib for the Toyota emblem it didn't get a stamped bezel. One or the other. If your truck has the Toyota emblem in the grill there's a good chance it was a late 63 and didn't have one. Unless maybe somewhere along the line yours had front end damage and use pairs were used to put it back together. On a vehicle that's 46 years old and some parts from a 58 will fit on a 84 anything is possible

Cool, thanks for the info. Well, I know for a fact there has never been any front end damage. And from what I can also tell in all of my postings and readings on here that I do indeed have a late 63. Could go either way I guess. I still wouldn't mind running into a stamped bezel, would be neat. Not a priority however.

Thanks guys - I appreciate the insight.

Have a good weekend - Dallas

I guess I'll start the hunt. I don't want to have to shell out 250.00 for one.

not original, but you could go with fiberglass repro

funny thing is I kept the one off my 63 40 and it's now on my 65 45LWB also.
