ed97 - umm, updated driver education you say? hehehe :flipoff2:

Care to elaborate? :D

Yeah, traffic school. "Improper position for a right turn." I'd tell the story, but it's long and I don't have time to scan my 27 8 x 10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one. Let's just say it's something that happens at that intersection every damn day, but the cop was a dick so I paid a $270 fine and learned that you can put stickers in the bottom right 7 x 7 inches of the windshield and the back glass. :flipoff2:

Well, at least if any of us are ever in Visalia, we'll know to mind our business when taking right hand turns won't we? hehehe

I talked to my friendly neighborhood CHP officer about the suction cup thing.
He says that unless the thing is grotesquely huge -- like one of the 7" screens truckers and bus drivers use -- you're not going to get a lot of hassle for it. You'll probably get trouble if you're using something that can play movies within the driver's sight, but a single-purpose machine or one of the Palm-type units is not going to earn you any grief. It's not a primary violation, so you won't be pulled over for it.

good to know :D

The only problem with the above info is that it's not true for all cops/CHP officers. Just like not having a front license plate. Most officers ignore that, especially on a 4x4, but every once in a while...

It's an anecdote. Besides, I already provided a disclaimer:

Yea, I missed your other post. Bottom of the page.
Are you done editing your reply? I saw all three. :D

Ah! You guys have nothing. I can't even remove my flares on my 80 for a day without getting busted. "Tires exceeding the fenderwell" is what that one is called. In Idaho, they can't pull you over for not wearing your seatbelt but they can pull you over for not having mudflaps and then give you a seatbelt ticket. Last June I got pulled over in my 40. I got a ticket that was almost $300. Tires exceeding the fenderwells, no mud flaps, and the real fun one "Not wearing a seatbelt". The reason I say it was a fun one is because I had harnesses on. Full 5 point harnesses and everything was buckled. But the kicker is harnesses are not DOT approved seatbelts. I'm not sure in other states but in Idaho if you have more than 16" of tire exposed you have to have mudflaps. Even a 2wd truck should have mudflaps to be legal. And if you hit the right officer at the right time you can get ticketed for it. Which reminds me, I haven't put my mudflaps back on from Cruise Moab. The real advantage you guys in the PRK have is that you have lots and lots of people. There is most likely someone doing something more offensive than what you are doing so you can get away with the small things.

Wow. I have harness belts, no mudflaps, tires exceeding my flares, and no front license plate.

Good thing I don't live in Idaho :D

5 points aren't legel in Cali either

I know this well. Cop tried to give me a ticket for them on my other Vehicle (65 12 second Drag Bug). Let's just say that's the only thing that I couldn't be cited for, Only because it predated the mandatory seat belt law in which any vehicle sold here in California after 1969 Had to have Seatbelts as a requirement by law. Even though it was optional, It was not a requirement under law.
Now for the other eight violations :flipoff2:

I'm also a CVC geek. After all, I need to know what to do to my vehicles to tick off the Man.:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
