Thanks guys, I saw spares mounted like this on some overseas race truck. Last fall I built some sandladder hinge brackets and trimmed the ladders flush where the stock tailgate used to be. Two days later I got hit by an Xterra, never even got to paint them. Five years ago the truck's PO got stuck 20 feet behind where we were. The angle was about as bad, going further right will roll the truck. I winched it out with my Heep, Friday the PO made things even.

Things worked out well yesterday, there was water everywhere expected. Somehow it looks like I kept my alignment.

Anybody getting stuck lately?

Here's some pics from earlier this year, started out with one stuck 60 on a pipeline road. I gave it almost a dozen pulls before I lost traction. Called my roommate and another buddy. We manage to get our buddy's 80 stuck then my roommate gets his 80 stuck.

Somehow we manage to basket weave my roommate's cable and the other 80 broke it's winch housing. Mine's not wired up yet, cutting almost half my index finger off stripping wires slowed that down.

Group photo.

Even got to use the sandladders in anger but to no avail. They bashed my shins pretty good though, definitely time to put thought into a proper tailgate. About three hours later everyone's free.

Successful test of our local recovery network, we almost had to bring in the jeeps.

Oh, yeah I stuck myself at the south end of Deer Valley a few weeks ago on my way to the 45 Run. I "turtled" the Caird and for about 5 minutes I was a little concerned that I would not be able to get out... Thankfully I had my highlift with me.... Hehehehe :D

No pics... sorry....

36 inch tires, lift, my toyota pulled it out..

NO,,, the Chain was moved to the frame before the pulling started. that is where he had it when I pulled up.

For curiosity's sake, what did you haul this dimwit's truck out with?

Right after buying my stock (at the time) '85. I learned that different types of dirt do different things when wet.

"Borrowed" a dozer to get it out. Tore the hell out of the rear bumper because I wasn't going to burrow my way down to a better tow point.

PS - Also learned that if you go from this, straight out to the highway, you need to make sure you brakes are clean and working first. I ran the first stop sign I came to because I had no brakes. After some use, they were back and fully functional.

Nice, seemed like he almost had it at the fist pass, but lost it.

Of course, it's a Chebby frame, so that mud he's picked up is in there for good.

the vid.... he shattered the rear lift blocks.... spun the axle up ....
ended up getting winched out ... pulling the rear drive shaft and the driving home as a glorified honda civic lol

That sucks! I've never heard of that kind of damage over such a not-falling-hard-over-boulders situation...

That green 4Runner looks awesome... You say it's the fastest... What engine's in it?

Haha. I hope you don't like it too much because it's a lot different now! Galva's a small town. It is the fastest, but also the slowest since no one else here own's one (that I have seen anyway). It's just a 94 22re with all of the emissions crap pulled off of it and some other little mods. Maybe 10HP over stock if i'm lucky. Might get a cam though....debating. Was gonna do a QSB3.3 or 4BT swap, but I think I'll put the money towards a class c/tow rig instead.
