You all know topping off (meaning repeat filling and filling until fuel is high up to the filling neck) can flood the charcoal evap filter (through a leaking check valve) and cause issues. I used to do this out of habit, no longer now I am aware.
I'm also being more proactive to not fill to the top on all our vehicles. The code I got this past weekend (P0453) appears to be from the gas cap. I cleaned it with a dry cloth along with the gas intake area. After clearing the code, it has not returned.

As Yossarian said, I've had a few ascents/descents from high altitude that did something funky with the rig, but it would quickly go away.

I wish Toyota would allow me to design a newer Cruiser where most of the EPA stuff would be removed, and go back to the days where transfer cases, lockers, and such were moved by a metal rod. Of course, keeping the modern day comforts of the inside.

Nope. Topping until the 1st click and done. As you've stated it can cause issues.
