Strange Problem. Transmission / TC? (1 Viewer)

Greetings,

Over the last couple days I've been experiencing a strange problem with my '93 FZJ80. Intermittently (has happened three times in four days), when I put the truck in gear, it either won't move at all, or moves under very low power.

When it happens, I try taking it in and out of gear to see if it will change something, but that has not worked. However, if I put the truck in park and shut it off, then restart it goes into gear and works perfectly. Other than this intermittent problem, the truck runs and drives like normal.

Hoping these symptoms sound familiar to someone

There has been a couple of threads lately about the neutral safety switch. Just a guess at the possible problems. The symptoms sound similar.

Is the O/D light flashing?

Is the CEL (check engine light) on?

No, the O/D isn't flashing and I haven't had a CEL (even when the problem is occurring).
