Wait till the end for my real question here. I'll start with the history first.
I had seat covers installed to front and middle rows.
When I picked the car up I noticed what I thought was an electrical smell. Drove the car home and everything seemed fine.
Day later, the battery is dead. Jumped it and drove to store, it started at the store and drove home.
Next day, gotta go somewhere battery dead, like .2v. Put charger on it and charger wouldn't charge because it didn't sense the battery.
jumped it with another battery and drove to AutoZone for alternator check, that didn't go anywhere because basically the battery was flat when shut off and I got nowhere there.
Brought home and put on the charger. This time there was enough charge on the battery for the battery charger to work, While it was running I tested the Voltage and it was 11.6v or something.
Charged overnight and the battery is 12.77v
I ordered another alternator for it and am worried about the battery.
The charging light has flickered a few times in the last 4 months or so, so I was suspecting an impending alternator issue.
I have the AGM voltage diode on the ALT S fuse, I want to add.
So here's my main current problem. When the battery leads are hooked up, my rear lights are lit up. I don't know if they are brake lights or Tail lights. No matter what I do, they won't go off, except to pull the negative battery lead.
Is there something that the guy who installed the seat covers could have done that is causing this or suggest a place to look?
