I'm thinking about buying a one of these to resolve the problem of the CARB gasoline containers. The thing will stink like gasoline from the first time I use it until the 2nd Coming, and probably then some.

So my question is, after using the SS, what would be a good way to store it during my (off-road) trips? I don't want to carry the thing around in the cab or in my truck bed with its capper, because I have to sleep in the capper.

Get a section of 3" PVC, cap one end, put a screw on cap on the other end, store the siphon in there.

EDIT: Just thought about fumes on a hot day... drill a vent hole and store it on the outside of the truck.

That's a good idea. Glad I thought of that!

You're right. It's the fumes I'm concerned about. All I have to do is look at a pump nozzle and my hands start to smell like gasoline.

I'll take a look and see what's available that I can use as a seal. Can't really think of a good place to put the pipe right now without it looking hoeky.

Don't know how long the pipe would have to be for a super siphon, but maybe strapped to the side of your frame? 4 little triangle blocks and some reeaally long hose clamps? And if there are obstructions you could hold it off the frame a bit with a flat center section in between the angled pieces, sort of like \_/. Just a thought.

Wow, didn't mean to shut this one down. Any resolution that you came up with?
