I still love this one, it kept all our stuff dry and dust free this weekend
Big Ammo Box As mentioned in that post we also use a few dry bags, they kind of squeeze into the empty spaces.

Last month we did a trip and used plastic bins, everything was dusty when we got to camp. Never again.

I love Hardigg-Storm boxes. When I was in the military we always had reps from Pelican and Storm giving us boxes to beat up and report back. We dropped a Storm case that was rigged to an unmanned aerial vehicle from about 12,000 feet and it held up.

I was just watching some vid's of 4WD monthly from Oz, and they talked about some ARB storage boxes that the editor had bolted on the back of his suzuki. Looked pretty nice, probably fairly pricey I'd imagine.

I use 'action packers', made by Rubbermaid.

Kent,

Did you see the large ammo box on the back of my junk?

Charles

No, didn't notice. 20mm??

I don't know what it had.. It is about 30" long, 10" and 10" tall.. I can get some pics later this week.

Ammo boxes are the real deal. IMHO nothing else compares as far as durability, cost and performance go. The storm and pelican boxes are nice but way to pricey for me, I can pick up ammo boxes for 1/4 the cost.

Ratpuke's dad picked up a couple of these when we were in California and we both wish we'd gotten more. Are they easy to come by? Anybody have a source in Alaska?

Look for an Army Navy surplus store. I get mine at Twin City here in Reno.
The 30cal size fits snugly between the Driver side door jamb and seat bracket, it hold my tire guage, deflators, and few other small items.

I use a Fat 50 cal for my recovery shackles and snatch strap.

A couple of linked 40 or super 40 cal holds my tools, another one holds extra quarts of oil, PS fluid etc.

The larger one mentioned in my post earlier contains, food, cooking gear and the tent. No longer in stock at Twin City:frown:
