it's time for our anual cruiser specific swap meet in stockton, northern CA.

date: april 20th 2012
time: 9am to 2pm
location: 4932 waterloo road stockton CA ( 3/4 mile east of hwy 99 on right )
price: $10 per spot; 50/50 cash raffle, the rest goes to the land owner
attendance fee: freebie
food: we'll have a caterer/roachcoach on hand, lotsa junkfood within 1/2 mile
pets: NO. PLEASE leave your dogs at home.
kids: only if they're supervised by an adult AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!! and i mean at all times. that does not translate to "as long as they're on the property", it means they need to be at your side at all times. no exceptions. last year somebody thought it'd be a great idea to let their kids run around and ride their bikes thru the parking lot all day, almost getting run over more than once. so PLEASE be a responsible parent and keep your kids with you.
show-n-shine: sure, so bring your cruisers!!!!!!! we'll come up with a prize.....

so dig up your old parts, load them in your cruiser and show up. might as well crack open your piggy bank wile you're at it. a few vendors have been invited and will be te the event as well.

please keep in mind that this event will be hosted on a friends property. he has invited us to have the swap meet there once again. i have a ton of respect for chip so let's make sure we behave accordingly, clean up after ourselves,......you get the point.

I might have to try and make it down too, just to see the digs Georg. Would be easy for me since the rents live in Escalon too.
Too bad it isnt a week later as we are coming down that weekend anyways for my mom's retirement party.
 
I plan on going and taking the crew cab and trailer, if anyone wants to ride along let me know, should have enough room for what ever you what to take and sell/buy, ... PM me or give me a call..
 
im taking the cruiser down that weekend and stopping by. i need more parts as always lol

haha after living close to stockton i can honestly say the only reason i go there anymore is to visit Georg. which is like once every 2 months for parts lol

Dude tell me about it... if my sister didn't live there I probably wouldn't stop for anything other than Georg's shop or the Cioppino feed in January at the Italian Athletics Club. I grew up in Escalon and traveled most summers to Stockton once I could start working because my dad worked for the County and always got me a job in like the mailrooms and what not. Such an armpit, though there are a few nice spots, but they are dwindling.

ya i know what you mean, my cruiser will be there saturday, its getting towed down tomorrow and im gonna crash at my parents place. stockton is one of the only places i would genuinely not want to go unarmed walking around, but georg is there so should be fun'
 
went down today with lee (LELANDEOD) had a good trip, didn't sell much, lot of lookers, not much money changing hands, lots of real neat cruisers there, there was a nice hzj78 pickup, lots of fj40's and some real clean fzj80's, there were even fj55's restored and moded that were super clean, fj60 with a 1hz swap,

Ran into some people I know from SoCal, and a few from Stockton, was a good trip overall, Lee found another fj40 with a 3fe in it and spent some time talking to the owner, was able to learn alot to help with his swap,

RustyTLC the only thing we sold of yours was the roll bar and Lee took that, I couldn't believe the doors didn't sell, they were the only set there??? and you couldn't fix a bad set for what you were asking... so I have some stuff to bring back to you..

:crybaby:Dan from RUFFSTUFF beat me to the only fj45 top there,

Note for next year it starts at 9am, be there at 8am, I guess there were people picking as stuff came in the gate...

Everybody I talked to said they bought things and most sellers did really well except for a couple who didn't sell much. That's how it goes at swap meets ........

Not to be nit-picky, but the white truck was gifu's HZJ79 and the white wagon with the ( turbo'd ) 1HZ was a 62. It's also got a 5spd trans in it. I'd know, I built it. :grinpimp:

Glad you got to talk to a fellow 3fe conversion owner. It always helps to talk to an actual owner in person rather than read things on the net .......

I was at the gate pretty much all day, starting at 7am, signing people in. I didn't buy anything ( didn't even get a chance to walk the meet at all ) and nobody else was "hovering". Sure, you might have missed out on a couple of items but so did everybody else. Again, it's a swap meet. ;)

Dan has been looking for a top for his 45 for a couple of years and missed out on one himself last year. I'm glad he finally found one. :cool:

Thanks again for doing this George, we had fun it was worth it just to see some old friends and meet some new ones,

Sorry for my breach of cruiser etiquette,

HZJ78 is a troopy this was a pickup so HZJ79, and the fj60 /fj62, was my mistake, I never looked at the grill, all my pix were the motor and how nice it fit..

I will take notes next time....:hillbilly::hillbilly:

gifu's 79 is very cool. I got to do some work on the toybox and split case in it. it runs and drives very well, turbo'd 1HZ.

I think it's a dream cruiser for many of us.

he also has a sweet 80 with a 1HD-FT and 5spd. I've worked on it as well and that puppy gets up and goes.

The highlight of my day was when ?? was messing with your sons hat, and I was trying to give him a bad time, and he dumped it right back at me...

its all good clean fun.
