What year? How's the body?

Post some pics...

No squeezing a toybox in. My rear DS with a stock F motor/4speed is probably 38" long at least.

She' so butt ughy im going to keep her under wraps until the cosmetic surgery is healed up! I do have all the glass except the windshield available... Its dirty but in good shape. Its up for grabs if anybody wants it? Im not interested in packing it up and shipping it though. The roof was used for a dance floor and then picked up by a fork lift right in the center of the back window... Now the roof is in the driveway. Ooh yea shes a beauty all right! So to answer the question the body is poor, and its a 71.She runs ok with good compression. I figure a roll cage like I built for Pkp80's rig, some unique tube doors with dzused removable stock door skins, Couple bumpers, Stinger, and a couple dana 60s with 38's will get us going. Oh yeah, power steering is already attached to the front Dana 60. Im not sure what to do about the brakes yet... the master cylinder is trash, so something newer with vacuum assist is in order im sure...

Gawd its butt ugly! So Cool. I dont think the preservation society is the place for me though... Its plasma time!

Oh, I don't know, looks pretty much like something to be cut to me. I fit the OEM look type, but lots of dif folks on here and some cool cut ups. Usually, I am intrigued (if not horrified) by some of the rigs people try to save stock (mine may fit that ). Photo's are nice. Lovely color

thanks for being an understanding purist.

   Now that's a contradiction of terms fo sure. Can't wait for the closed-minded replies to this build

Anyway, it's great to see anutha :pig: gettin the proper "treatment". I read about the drivetrain, but most importantly, are you stickin w/ the stock type leaf suspension? Good choice on the axle upgrade :bounce: You runnin HP60's or reg. GM low pinion? Full hydro? What wheels/ tires/ lockers/ gears?
Dying to see more progress pics.

Problem is that ive got a few other projects in the works so I cant give this one priority... but who knows priorities can change, right?
I was going to run D60's... but a donation was made to the cause last night. A front Cheby 10 bolt and a rear 14 bolt. complete with great brakes and locker. Donator is up grading his truck to d60's. And the price is right for now. Ive got a set of f250 leafs that I might slim down a leaf or two. I have no idea what the hot set up is? I havnt had time to research it yet...any input? oh the f250 has a 3" lift kit I might be able to work in. Ive got 4 38" X 10" Swamper TSL's that are looking for a place to be mounted, They will probably end up on it. As soon as I get the DMV straightend out I will go full hydraulic steering I think? im going to have work my way to that, im not 100% sure at this point what? It seems to make sense and im sure a lot easier than playing with a column and hydro assist. But who knows?:hhmm:

A front Cheby 10 bolt

 Noooooooo, those knuckles won't hold up to any type of hydro steering in the rocks. Only my opinion -->D60 min. knuckles for hydro-asist, aftermarket knuckles w/ the 5th stud for full hydro. If you have your steering system ported for high flow, 38's or 39's would be okay. Anything over that, I'd go full hydro. Gotta remember it's way different & harder in the rocks.

4 link or take those leafs & cut 'em down for a qtr. ellip. setup. Check out my :pig: buildup thread. I'm not sayin it's the trend, but it's waht I wanted for *best on or off road long term functionality :D

Sweet build! I think a little more than I want to get into on my rig? Im thinking, quiet country roads. Maybe a blast through some narrow washes at the desert. Not a ROCK crawler by any means! You know, a Pimp Wagon...:cheers:;) With the lines on these rigs, who could resist?
