Stiff transfer case selector

For those that are interested in this topic, I was able to locate this PDF showing how to access the transfer shift lever for a 100 series. There is also a youtube video that shows modifying the transfer case, but it will give you a look at what is going on under the floor pan.

Are the cutouts in the tub same 80 to 100?...did not look like this from underneath or inside the cab. The 100 transfer case shift assy is not same as the video (80).

The cut out are probably not the same. However, I do not have a PDF for the 80 on the transfer case. Hopefully, this helps give everyone an idea of what they have to do, with the necessary modification for the 80 series. The video provide a better look at what to expect when you access the linkage from the top, but it if for a 1991. Later models might be different. Again, it provides you with an idea of what to expect.
