I've got a blown seal on the input of my steering gear box of my LHD BJ74. I have a serviceable
steering box from a 60 series. Both are power boxes. It all seems the same to me, so should
I be able to reposition the pitman arm and use the 60 box on a 70 series. Seems easy, therefore
I am nervous.

I would have thought it easier to repair the BJ74 box. I think the internals turn in opposite directions for LH and RH. I remember a mechanic telling me something about it after he imported 7 LHD 75 series from Laos to Australia.

I'm away for a while now. The one is an '85 LHD BJ70 box, the other is an '82 LHD FJ60 box.
So far, the seal kit for both is the same. I'll have to wait for a while now until I get back to
tear them both down.

BJ70 has the pitman arm facing the rear,FJ60 pitman is facing forward.

If you swap a pitman to the other side it will result in when you move the steering wheel to the left the steering box will go right and vice versa.

This is very funny offroad, not so much on your daily driver ;-)
