steering box adjustment?

Is there a way to "tighten" the slop out of the steering on my '86 pickup?

I was told there is some kind of adjusting bolt but I'm not seeing it.

It's on the top, you will probably have to remove the coolant overflow bottle to get to it. There is a nut with a screw in the middle of it. You loosen the jam nut, then remove the "slop" in the sector shaft movement by tightening the screw. It's a trial-and-error thing, if you go too tight it gets hard to turn the wheel.
