Steel half doors

I hear what you're saying about cutting up a pair of perfectly good doors. I agonized over the decision for about 6 months. During that time I search for half doors that I would put on instead. The only thing that came close to being what I would put on (personal preference here) were (I think) the aqualu aluminum (smooth) half doors. As I recall, your talking $350ish plus. If someone would give me that for my originals I would have gone that route. So here we are at reality...and self justification...Yep I cut them..could I put them back as original. Yep...saved the top pieces and could easily be welded back on and floated out. No one would be the wiser. Next weekend I should get the cap plates welded on and rid them of the rattle can camo paint job.

If these doors are so valuable what bids do I hear. All I want is a pair of Half doors. If you want my doors they're yours. All I want is a pair of half doors. Hand me a pair of those fancy aluminum half doors and haul off these stock doors. All I want is a pair of half doors. Oh, did I mention all I want is a pair of half doors. :D

I think the doors will turn out just fine. Post some pics of the WOOD DOORS DENIS, I'd like to see them. ATOYOT, I like your roll bar, but wonder about the steel integrity at the windshield with that bend. Worse case scenario, if it gives, you'll look good on your way....

Not mistaken, and nothing wrong, just interesting...first time I've seen a bend like that on the front tubes that's all. My only thought was that if they're already bent, they'd bend easier under stress over a straighter bar. Honestly, it would take a massive rollover to even make a difference, so, for what it's worth I apologize if I struck you wrong....because I like the look.

I might be ignorant to roll bars but i think those are pretty strong roll bars. -you are right about the windshield being out of luck. - I think the bends are stronger than welds. I might be raising the roll bar up with spacers for more head room and that would fix the windshield problem. But I also like my center of gravity as low as possible. It's almost a catch 22.
