Hi,
Might be a dumb question but do you grease the inside surface of the steady bearing before you put it on the mating driveshaft surface or should it be a dry fit?? I greased it but I think I maybe shouldnt have

Really appreciate knowing what is "correct" as I got some kind of squealing going on underneath there... (I did torque the stake nut to correct lbs).
Thanks,
Johnny

Wondeering basically should it be a tight pressure fit, or is there some slip? The new bearing went on with ease and I thought if it spins it will turn blue fast - so I greased it. Agreed sqeeling likely not coming from here....

anyone?

yes, this is the centre bearing in the rear driveshaft

thanks,
Johnny

HAppens when I'm first startinig out - say in the am or afterwork - and does it for approx 1 minute until I get the truck up to speed/ rev it up once or twice. I dont think it is the fanbelt, but it sounds like that.

?

I'll fool around a bit more.....just cant help wonder about greasing that damn driveshaft to fit inside the steady bearing...

Thanks for your reponses 2nd GEn!
