I was away last weekend at a conference in Ontario, otherwise I would have been there.

I have been doing some mild wheeling up Stave area in the last two months and was disgusted at the garbage being left everywhere. It was a motivating factor to look for the M101 style trailer so I could do some bulk cleanup.

As an aside, is the club interested in 'funding' some of the costs of this type of cleanup, perhaps have some of our own cleanup runs?

It's tough with stave lake, too many red necks with nothing better to do than drink beer and dump their garbage. I wish there was a way to stop them from dumping, like taking pictures of the retards doing the dumping with licence plate and forwarding that to the police, then maybe stave will clean up. I guess the more we try to clean it up they might get the message, but it's tough.
Cheers,

Beat the piss out of them ;)

One of us means many of us... disrespect one of us, and you will see plenty of us!!!

Numbers... and blunt objects!!!

Yesterday was the 4WDABC's 5th Annual Stave Lake Cleanup. I'll have full results later this week, but overall we had over 50 volunteers out and together we removed approximately 3000 kilos of garbage.

It was a great effort -- and we need to focus on the fact that we made such a difference.....even if it may be short lived since we kept finding "new" piles of garbage in spots where we'd previously completed cleanup. sigh.
