Starter Replacement and Header Swap

If only I had a mechanic like you in the mid-Atlantic to wrench on my vehicle for me….

Ain't that right. Seems harder and harder to find good, honest, and knowledge people to do anything nowadays. People just want to wrap things up as quickly as possible and charge as much as possible. I'm doing more and more myself with each passing month.

I’m about buttoned back together and will finish up in the morning. One of the joys of winter time outdoor repairs - at least it hit 50 today, and was clear. A good amount of the ice shell that had covered things is now gone.

After pulling the starter and preparing the IM/block for new gaskets, I certainly see how this could be terrible for the engine if someone wasn’t super careful. I made sure to block everything off and vacuum anything I could. Hindsight is 20/20 - I’ll be cleaning the bejesus out of my engine bay after this, and hopefully never have to take the IM off again while I own the truck…
