Does this sound like a dying starter?

This started to randomly happen, along with my screen cutting out mid drive, about a month ago. Started to happen more frequently so I replaced my 5 year old 2X Power battery w/ a new one. The screen has not had any issues and for the first 1-2 days it started great but it's now randomly struggling to start like the video above. The alternator is less than a year old and done by Toyota.

Not what I was hearing on your clip. Was the very first part, you trying to turn over the engine?
Also, which screen are you referring to? your dash center screen that gives, temp, mileage, gear position, etc.? Or are you referring to your center console screen?
Also, what year and how many miles?

It's a 2016 w/ 165k miles on it and the screen on center console ( nav, ac, audio, etc... ).

That was me pressing the start button one time and it does that. It was obviously really cold that morning but even when it's been up in high 50s it's done it.

Humm.. usually starters have a grinding noise, or a clink-clink as it's trying to engage the flywheel but won't spin. Does it at all sound grinding or that clink-clink?

Nope. No grinding at all or clinks at all. I'm trying to find a pattern with when it happens but can't. It just seems random but happens 2/3 of the time now.

YASSS! Thats the sound mine made. But it made it for a very long time and didnt fail. It was just a good time to change it when I was having other things done. I think It started around 100 or 110k and I just had it replaced at 148k. I have a long commute though, 120 miles a day. So I get fewer starts for the same mileage.

Its an expensive job on its own. Involves pulling passenger side exhaust manifold.

GX goes in the shop tomorrow morning for new starter. Outside of the valley leak anything else I should have them do while they are in there?
Inspect radiator. Change water pump. Inspect fan clutch assembly.

Most stuff is actually good for a long time.

I would highly recommend a HD all aluminum radiator if this is a forever vehicle for you like mine is for me.

I did the radiator probably 5k miles ago and went with a direct replacement from Lexus.

Got the new starter in and that peace of mind is so nice. Headed out for a trip in about an hour.
