I just ordered one of these half grill/ half stove deals and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this unit. Maybe you could tell me about weak points, problem areas, mods to make it more rugged and stuff like that. I realize that all these sub $100 stoves are cheap Chinese junk but I just need to basically boil water for coffee, make a quick burger or hot dog, and occasionally fry up some eggs in the morning after an all-nighter, so this seemed to fit the bill for a modest $59.

So, anybody have one?

I have had one for about 5 years and the only issue I've had is the grill grate warping. I think the grate is just coated aluminium. I use it a lot and it's the only stove/grill I bring camping.

Five years and still kicking sounds pretty good for the $60 bucks.

Yeah they list the grate as cast aluminum. Probably full of air. I looked on Amazon for a replacement grate but saw none. One review said putting a griddle over one of these grates practically melted it from the trapped heat. Do you use one?
I did see cast iron grill grates about 13" x 23" which I guess might work.
