Hey guys! Anyone near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that has possibly fabbed up his/her own tool, or has the shop one, also has a shop press? :D

Got my first 86 Toyota pickup and got some issues. So I'm doing a general overhaul on some things I think need to replaced.

I'm not sure how to use this site yet, so please forgive me I posted this in the wrong format.

You'll need a piece of pipe or tube with an ID slightly larger than the OD of the axle, but with sufficient thickness to have as much surface area against the bearing retainer and bearing.
The old bearing retainers will need to be sliced into to be slid off. So you'll need newies in advance.
The new bearings will be a tight fit when installing, but do not force, stop and try again at aligning it and it will slip in like magic.
Remember to apply rubber grease to the seal prior to installation.

I made my own SST from an old axle housing:

Works really well, I've used it many times.

Dunno what you mean about slicing into the old bearing retainers, I've never had to do that. You just remove the snap ring, put it in the press, crank it up and stand back. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, but eventually BANG it pops apart.
