Quick question, I have searched with no luck. I have a 1981 2wd pickup that has a squeak that is increasingly getting worse. It only happens when moving slow <5mph with transmission engaged (in 1st gear). The noise is defiantly coming from the rear of the truck when coming to a stop/backing up/pulling away/etc. but goes away when the clutch is engaged (pressed in). Are there lube points requiring lube? Any help would be much appreciated.

I also added a picture, everyone loves pictures.

Thanks

Nope, only while rolling with 1st gear or reverse engaged. Once I push the clutch in it stops, and when I speed up it stops as well.

sounds like a ujoint they might have grease zirks or try soaking them in WD40 or w/e you have for lube

Id assume you can only hear when your going slow because thats when your trucks going to be the quietest...thats make sense?

and obvisiously with the clutch in the shaft stops spinning

Perfect, thanks....Quick and easy. Soaked the U-joints down and the squeak has stopped. How often does that happen? I do love this truck, $300 and it runs so so good.

Thanks again.
