Sumitso drove up in his 1985 BJ73 for service this morning (I can put another face with an avatar :).)

A crowd quickly formed around his uber cool rig

Right hand drive, deisel, picked it up in Portland about 3 years ago. Shipped over from Aussie land.

Nice to meet you Sumitso!

Murf

A crowd? Why? What's cool about a RHD BJ70 short wheelbase? :crybaby::crybaby:

Said noone ever!

 I know you were at work yesterday Murf. Wnen I was there just after 5:00 there was two very clean stock 60 series parked up front waiting for pick up. A late model grey one with Idaho plates and earlier white one with AZ plates. Just as I was leaving I seen the grey pull out. Looked like it was headed east on Camelback. Was driven by a younger gentleman around my age. I know you must have snapped some pictures. I would have brought my camera if I had know. Wasn't expecting to see two 60s that were that clean. Both looked like they had just been detailed.

Those belong to Mr Sampson who has us work on his stable of Land Cruisers (mostly 60 series)

So...how does the wife like the new-to-you Sequoia with the 5.7? That rig is going to spoil you both rotten :D with all the cool goodies it is loaded with.

Thanks again for thinking about CBT for the purchase

1985 Cressida. I had one of these for a few years and loved it. Rear wheel drive, 2.8 liter in line 6 out of the Supra. Super comfortable drove great, pretty good power for the 80's, pretty good gas mileage and super reliable. The only thing I didnt like was the electric seat belts.

spy shots of NEW Toyotas

OK, Here at the dealership we all run outside like a bunch of giddy kids when the newly designed models first land. MOst people will probably yawn but I will share the new models in this Classic forum and throw a wrench in it :wrench::hillbilly:

You gotta remember: For the most part, Toyota has been so very vanilla for so many years and the quality has carried them through. With the new leadership, they are pushing for a little more styling. MOst new syling has to get used to by the public at first. (Remember the 90's Dodge pickup "18 wheeler" front ends?)
Now everyone has a version of it...

No, not interested in selling, just sharing photos.

New Corolla (Sport model even has paddle shifters on the st wheel!

New Tundra - check out the saddle leather special edition interior.

Not real new but recent Avalon.

These vehicles are still in theri "diapers" the white palstic that protects the paint in shipping.

I see the new models have the led's in the parking lights that is becoming more popular.

Interesting that the grill on the special edition Tundra (black truck) is different than the regualr Tundra (red). Front end has less bumper, rear has different taillights and tailgate treatment.

The new Avalon is really amazing and is set up to actually handle well unlike the predecessors.

"SR5 Longbed Sport Truck". Man that thing is super clean. How was the interior? Judging by the rest of the truck it must be pretty nice.

When I lived in Colorado Springs we had a Toyota chassis cab of similar vintage, with a stakebed, 5-speed. No A/C, but that was fine. Whenever I would go on deliveries if I had a choice I'd always drive it instead of the Fords.
