I have to be in longmont sarurday morning to take my mom and daughter to the airport at 4 AM. (Gasp) i was planning to came back through and hit the trail with whoever showed up. I'll be in my pickup on 31" tires, and i'm not scared at all. It's fourwheeling and things are going to get scratched and dented, just deal with it. If trail plans change, give me a call and let me know. Luke 306-3519

We need to pick a meeting spot and time. There is a gas station we always meet at right outside the trailhead, not sure the name of it. Chuck may be able to shed some light on that. I figure 11:30? I'll be bringing my chains just in case there is still snow.

4LLC, welcome to Colorado. You are right, we have many places to go. We tend to stay fairly close to COS due to the cost of fuel and there are many good trails close by. We can get into the high country trails and passes within 100 miles from here. Look at the calendar on our website for scheduled trips and watch our forum and you will find many opportunities to go with groups or other individuals. Vic

The trail time can vary quite a bit so it's hard to give a good estimate. I am planning on being back on the road around 4pm - 5pm.

Good day of wheeling.

We had Matt, Luke Paul and Chuck on this trip. At the hard switchback the 60 was the only rig to make it through the rock pile. We had talked to a couple of different people coming back down the trail and they said the trail wasn't open all the way through and that the snow in the rock garden was deep. Luke and I drove up to check it out. I started going through the rock garden but all the holes are full of snow so we backed out and took the bypass around the rock garden. More snow as we headed up the trail a little farther. Soon the tracks ended and I had to see if I could make the high mark. Luke and I ramed our way another 50 feet up the trail but since we only had one rig up that far and we could see 4 foot snow drifts in front of us we turned around and headed back down. I think it will be at least another 3 weeks before the trail may get opened to the top.

The only carnage on the trip was Matt snapping off a valve stem on the first obstacle.
